I'm saying don't sign anything unless you understand what it is youre signing!

The NHS treat extreme cases, doctors can get helmets if he thinks they're required.... you've just signed up for something that could be a huge waste of time and money.

Would you sign a petition for diamond healing? Where alternative therapists place expensive diamonds on cancerous lumps to cure cancer?

Ok I get you now mate :)

The thing I see from my point of view is there is someone in need of medical help I dont care to a point whats wrong with them, if I can help them by signing a document that might have some reflection on them getting treatment that could help them live longer or get better in anyway then im all for it. People shouldnt be denied treatment full stop IMO.

People dont have to know the absolute specifics to want to help.

    Grow up.

some cancer treatments cost a hell of a lot more than that and dont always guarantee that they will be cured so should that be stopped to?

Think about what you are saying, it's someones kid you are talking about. Im sure if you were in that position you would do everything you could.

What sort of inbred moron signs upto something he has no knowledge on?

Not one of you asked Dance-aholic about the condition, when someone finally did you retarded pricks called him harsh... It demonstrates the mentality of the boards population.

I want to help smackheads, but I wouldn't sign a petition that would give them free heroin as it probably wouldn't get them off the drug... Not one of you understood the condition and few of you enquired - you just signed it blindly.

lol hahahaha you're a fucking fool - cancer treatments will have a much greater success rate than placing diamonds on a lump!!!!

For a treatment to become available on the NHS it must undergo rigerous tests to assure that it doesn't damage the patient and that it is actually effective.... When these helmets have been proven they should be introduced to NHS, until then they shouldn't.

As it is if a doctor feels a helmet will help the child - he can prescribe it!

Taxes will go up regardless anyway so theres no point in bringing the money issue into it, we all know what this country is like these days.

but the 1st post said it's not for this kid, it's to make this treatment available on the NHS in the future... this debate happens on a regular basis with the NHS's budget and what's the most effective treatment all round it can offer.

I feel sorry for the kid, and his mam, but didn't sign

Any idea how many nurses you could recruit for £18m? Or how many wards you could run for a year?

There's no point in wasting money like that, and in an NHS which is currently running heavily in the red its money they can't afford to waste.

Think about what you're saying before making grand sweeping statements like the above.

This time im not and you cant tell me taxes wont go up again this year petrol is already due to sore over £1 per litre later in the year!!

I know what its like to have a child thats ill from a close experience and I think all treatment should be available even if it gives a very small chance of success, wouldnt anything be worth trying?

The NHS is fucked up anyway the reason they are in the red is due to managers over spending on things they dont need. I work for the council and ive worked for the NHS and I know how poorly run it is, personally when it comes down to someones health I think all resources should be tried before saying no afterall if I was in the parents position I know thats what i'd want.

Im not bothered to be honest mate afterall you cant put a price on someones health
