I remember the same happening with Dave Clarke last year & I was devastated.

On a lighter note all Junior:G DJ's turned up & it was a corkin night!

There were signs up at the door clearly explaining the situation. His flight from Switzerland was severely delayed. So much so that once he did eventually land into London he had missed all connecting flights to Newcastle. We tried to get him up from London in a taxi but he wouldn't have arrived in time to play.

Unfortunately sometimes these sort of things are out of promoters control. Ok Wax:On has been unlucky with this and also the Glimmers a while ago when their flights were delayed but when your flying in guests from around the world this is part of the risk you take.

Luciano will play Newcastle, he was gutted about the situation as he had heard rave reviews from other DJ's over the summer about the club.

What is it with DJ's not showing up at Wax On?

if u read the post above urs he didnt just not turn up he did make an attempt to get there

Hahaha, we all make great excuses for not showing up for work. Wax On has a reputation for DJ's not showing up and need to sort it out.

They used to run weekly and have 2/3/4 djs playing each time so the laws of probability mean they are going to have a few no shows.

As far as I know theyve only had 3 that havent showed which isnt really a bad record is it

What are you all on about? Its becoming quite a regular occurance for a night that takes place once a month. Shindig is a weekly night and that probably has less no shows.

By the way hes reacting its obviously a problem and it needs sorting out. Its typical that Wax On and its entourage (Simon L) cant accept any critisism and only smile when someones brown nosing their night!

Sometimes this sort of thing happens, and it can't be helped, but I do wonder why dj's always seem to leave it that late in getting to places they play at. It's almost always the case they get picked up from airports, etc around about 9pm and normally straight to the club. Obviously sometimes that can't be helped because of connecting flights, etc, but he's only been in Swizterland, not a million miles away. If I was the dj I'd be getting a flight early morning and trying to get into Newcastle or wherever else I was playing for say at least late afternoon so that the chance of this happening greatly reduced! Maybe this is what Luciano did, I don't know.

I work for the night, course I'm going to defend it......and I've stated nothing but truth in my previous post.
