I was replying to magicpauls comment mainly. Don't see what immigrants living in Fenham has to do with crime there though?

I thought Fenham was really well known for being really really rough...not so much heaton thats just full of students but I thought Fenham was full of raging smack head charvas....may be a bit over the top but thats just what ive heard

Its not really. True, it aint the most picturesque place in the world but but if you dont get involved with trouble you dont tend to get any, unless your very unlucky. Its just workin class, which aint automatically rough is it?

People saying Fenham is rough seem to be doing so on the basis of the West Road.

Tbh, that is the very southern edge of Fenham. North of it is fine. South of it is rough, but then thats cos your in Benwell.

ive lived in the west end of newcastle all my life, wouldnt say ive had a sheltered life at all, but i do think its rough... there are nice parts though, like where i lived, they are just surrounded by rough estates, and charvas!

im talking about the whole of the west end, not just the west rd, or fenham
