To be honest i am quite disappointed with the lineup, i have been to nearly every1 since it started but i think i am gonna give this a miss. Not the biggest fan of Fred Baker and Shan and it would take alot to beat Kearney last month.
Hopefully one of the discover Djs are on in June.
I was thinking Bart Claessen would go down a storm in the Ballrooms aswell!

I agree about the line up being weak for a b/day, especially when the year before it i have had some quality nights out and seen DJ's i never thought id see up here.

Will be interesting to see what the months to come have to show anyways and look forward to them

I hear exactly what you saying mate & for me personally id like nothing more than to see a Discover name up here once a month. But you have to bare in mind so far from the Discover camp wev'e had: Askew, O'Callaghan, Tyas (twice in newcastle), Downey & Kearney, Junior:G is all about keeping things different & fresh, although you may not like this months line-up there may be a club full of folk that do? we dont want to fall into a trap of booking the same DJ's over & over again as you may well know some of the big nights have went down the pan & destroyed a decent reputation by doing the same thing.

The thing with Newcastle is that it's a wiered city in my opinion, take a look at last year when we had John O'callaghan, Jon O'bir & Barry Connell all on the same line-up, the night barely pulled in a hundred clubbers, yet we put Mac Zimms on a month later & it was a sell out! :spangled:
Go to any other night up or down the country with that line up & the night would be packed to the rafters?
Im in your corner on this one tho, I love seeing up & coming names up here & even more so getting the oppertunity to play alongside them, but its a hard 1 to judge sometimes weather to stage a line-up full of up & coming names & hoping folk will turn up? or a few more well known established DJ's as a gaurentee that the event (in this case the birthday) wont be a flop.

I will say this however, Iv'e only caught Fred Baker a few times but his productions are second to non and always consistant, Shan is imo 1 of the best DJ's to have ever came from the goodgreef brand & never ever dissapoints when ever Iv'e seen over the years.

It'll be a shame if you cant make it mate but like Geordie said keep your eyes peeled for the forthcoming months

this will be a quality night especially with the new layout. Fred baker was awesome at trees and shan is immense. Also expecting another corker from proudy as usual. U still giving out CD's like proudy?
