Think some people need to get their arses out of Newcastle and look at the real world. Is trance dead? Of course not! The worlds most popular DJ's are all trance DJs, the biggest dance nights are all trance nights.

Trance is here to stay, which is more than can be said for Tribal Mongolian Minimalisitc Techno, or whatever the latest fad is.

Trance has already had its ups and downs - 1998 to 1999 it was pretty big, died off for a year or two, and came back again. The same has happened before with house. It all just comes around again, slightly reinvented.

I see that Radio 1 have ditched Jon O'Bir too from the Residency show, maybe they're starting to think trance is dying (again)! Him and Nic Fanciulli have been replaced by Tayo and Plasticman.

Personally over the last year, I think, a few good trance tracks have been produced that are just as good as when trance was at it's peak.

according to jon, this is because eddie & himself are too similar in style so theyre keeping eddie and going to cycle jons & the trophy twins slot, so he may be back later in the year

hes got a cd called the residency coming out in march, a baroque compilation

Theyve only kept Halliwell over O'Bir for trance because Halliwells a massive name now, im suprised Fanciulli got ditched for the Trophy twins mind but it just goes to show that its not all about talent

The stupid thing is Halliwells residenceys he has an alternate mix, a techno mix and a trance mix so he only plays about 40 mins of trance....where as Jons was completly trance so if they wanted a trance show they could have just kept Jon and got Halliwell to keep doing his stuff and replace his Trance bit to Hardhouse...
