sorry but its true, steve is 21 and hes no further forward than me, ive got more qualifications than him, ive got an aim in life (a realistic one) and i know how to spell!

sorry if this sounds harsh, but do u really think ure guna be a big DJ by working in Mc Donalds, u think radio 1 are guna come in one day and ask for a burger and then realise ure the next tiesto, sorry but its not likely!!

IMO u dont get anywhere without any qualifications, unless ure very lucky, which from my POV, ure not!

That annoys me. When people have talent and won;t try and get work, and just think they'll get discovered on their day-job. Like this guy I know, he;s a really fantastic singer. I mean amazing. He's got the talk and the moves too. Reminds me of Robbie Williams. ANyway, we were tryin to get him to audition for pop idol an that and he was like "Nah, if I'm gonna get discovered, I'll get discovered on my own". Not like Pete Waterman;s gonna walk into the karaoke at the Eagle in Leam Lane now, is it?

Anyway, what;s your aim in life, Kerry?

i wana be a psycologist or in that kind of work anyway! i wana be someone who talks to people when they are upset and help them, or a social worker, something like that. im not too sure what exactly, but i wana help ppl who are going through hard times n stuff, coz ive been through alot and i think my experiences could help alot.

it'd be nice to help ppl to make sure they dont go through what ive been through again.

    I start tomorrow too!

Im starting tomorrow too! LOL! This should be fun!

    Well go on...................

wish me luck everyone! Im doing AVCE in ICT, maths and marketing! What fun!:D:D:D

Steve (and anyone else who is daft enough to share his opinion). Of course you need qualifications and the more the better! I have all 10 GCSE's which I'm very happy to have got. Having these got me onto the courses i have been on over the past couple of years, unfortunately they didnt work out. To get on the course Im on now, I had to have at least 5 GCSE's to get on it.

Once I have completed this course I will be still less than half way to doing what i have chosen. After the next two years I will be spending another 2 years working and doing a business course so i can save money for university after that and also gain another qualification.

My intentions are to get by in life without having to struggle or make do with all i can because I haven't worked for it hard enough. I want to set my targets and score my goals. This is the only way Im going to do it!

Steve, after reading these replies to your post, do you still honestly believe in your view about eduacation?

good points roz, this is why when i should be finished my a-levels, im having to re-sit GCSE's, coz i didnt have enough to get onto an a-level course!

i should be well ahead of where i am now, but coz i pissed about and wasnt sure what i wanted to do, im not!!

steve, do u really wana be one of those 39 yr old students, or working in maccy D's for the rest of ure life, coz with an attitude like that, its whats guna happen hun!

I left school when I was 16 and got a job. I had 10 GCSE's and they were all grade C and above. I worked in a sports shop and loved every minute of it until it closed....

Then I worked in office world for a couple of years and then went for an interview as an Estate Agent. Got the job and have done it ever since.

Now I own my own firm of Estate Agents.

You don't need qualifications to succeed, but they help. I took the view that I did well at school and therefore my employer would know I'm relatively intelligent and confident.

Good luck GA, Im sure you will do well. (and Rozz)

Well, i like education so much that im starting my 4th year of A levels. All my friends are going into their second year of uni while im stuck with a bunch of 17 year old charva's.

I can only blame myself though cos i pissed about for the first 2 years and got kicked out of 6th form.

The second time round wasn't any better. 3 days before i was due to do my AS level exams this summer i broke my leg and missed every exam i was supposed to take.

So 3 years of studying and fuck all to show for it!!!!!!!!

Dont follow my example kids, work hard, stick in and pass your exams first time.
