    Ahhahahahahaha you use glowsticks aaahahah

Unless you can do something good with them they are absolutely pointless?

i've never even picked one up!

They belong with all the light hearted fun that seems to have vanished from the scene in the last few years, it's all become so cynical and cut throat - although i do agree charvers have now taken them on as part of their uniform with their stripey ellesse sweatshirts and rockports

if people like them and makes them enjoy a night more - why not, it's a free country.

i wouldn't be seen dead with them

I use to use glowsticks in the Army to mark convoy routes in the dark and to make improvised runways :p

    they are good then

Edit: their real names are 'cylumes'

glowsticks were kinda cool when being a cyber was cool i.e back in 99. anyone who used them in years after 2000 was just rather cringeworthy to look at as by then everyone who used to be a cyber had grown out of it due to the development of trance club culture. the word embarresed dont even come near to the emotions i feel when i see people using them these days, these people just dont have a clue

That's probs one of the reasons a lot of people won't use them now. As soon as you see someone on the dancefloor waving a glowstick people automaticaly think "Charv" (or tit).

I don't use them now myself, but I used to at the old Judgement Day's @ Newcastle Uni - when I was 14

When i used to get off my tits on whatever I could get my hands on glowsticks were sweet :p

I dont go near them anymore though but i think they do add to the energy of the night as do all the other trademark ingredients. People who go on about how this and that is shit and shouldn't be part of the trance scene anymore are boring me now. You're basically asking/hoping for the style of the scene to change into more of a pub crawl situation with everyone dressing similar, nobody being 'wacky' (or KeRaZeY as some of you label it ;)) and the use of glowsticks/bright clothes to be banished.

Keep it all as it is :)

Eh?? I think you misunderstood me mate I was agreeing with you, either that or I fucked up my point!!

All I was trying to say was that I don't care if I don't look 'cool' using glowsticks - that's not why I go clubbing. If I did I'd be at a funky house club etc etc. On the whole, bar a few exceptions I don't think trance as a genre attracts people who care if they look 'cool'...partly why I like it.

If people don't like glowsticks fair enough, if people do that's also fair enough. Personally I do. This thread was only ever about getting other people's opinions...of which most are pretty clear

old ravers with glowsticks = priceless.

"poi" annoys me as well. I don't want to have to risk being hit in the eye with a tennis ball on a piece of string when i'm on a night out.

I think I read it as you were slating someone looking cool trance dancing.

I think I look cool and i'd goto a trance night I think your still being a bit shallow minded about sterotyping people with music genres.

Used to use them at old rezerection raves back in 1993-1995 and it did use to look impressive when you looked down at a crowd of 5000 with them going mental.

I used them for about a year as well old rave stuff like white gloves ,whistles, vicks and the like when we first got seriously into rave.

But they just became passe when little charvers started to get them and act like dicks at party's.Plus i saw some photo's of myself and thought what a tool i looked.

So we changed how we dressed at raves to look different to the charvers and not like total rave divs.

Seems like thats the same thing that happened in the trance scene imo.

But if you see anyone over the age of 21 with glowsticks at party either have just started doing pills or to me have serious issues.

Have used them in the past but not anymore. don't see the point but again i couldn't give a fuck if someone else has them, clubbing is about having fun, the moment you start complaining about little things like this you should just sit at home on a weekend in front of the fire with your pipe and slippers
