anyway it aint going to happen cos the poll is being run with such a short timespan and with so many voting options that the following 3 people will end up on the council

B.O.B - will do a good job
lee - will sit on fence
urban merlin - will entertain us

why bother with a council at all - it's only a message board for fucks sake. just have 1 or 2 mods and be done with it.
I don't know Rob personally and I'm sure he makes a small amount through adverts that appear on the board.
I'm actually surprised he hasn't just swithced the server off and said 'fuck it' with the amount of hassle that kicks off here all the time.

however i still cannot believe how far this is going

ok here's my ideas for what actually should be done with this board (all presuming it's to remain as a non profit making clubbing board for north east clubbers)...

1 - if the hostings costing too much shift the hosting to conways server or another cheaper server and hit up a few of the local nights for 10-20 quid each per year to pay for it.

2 - Make it so that anyone wanting a banner add on the site must include the Nucastle.co.uk logo (if anyone could be arsed to knock up a nonshite logo) or just the text on all flyers and posters.

3 - appoint someone as admin to deal with posting banners up on the site.

4 - get rid of the council, it does nowt apart from cause arguements.

5 - if new mods are needed have an open nominations and voting process for it. If mods need sacking have an open (secret) vote on whether to sack or not.

6 - if mods / admin get guesties for stickying the odd thread or whatever who really gives a fuck, they're not getting paid for it so there should be the odd privalege - they deserve it more than most of the blaggers that end up on the guestlists IMO.

if nights want to do guestlist competition threads etc. then I'm sure they're capable of sorting it out themselves though if someone really wants to be the nucastle competition person let em.

point 2 being a particularly obvious way of easily getting new peeps to join the board, keep it fresh and help push the local scene (via the board) for no cost.
