    I'm with Bellini :p

I'd love Promise to grow to superclub status!!!!

Gatecrasher was at its peak when it was a superclub... Just cos soemthing is good - it doesn't mean there isn't reoom for improvement, there is always room for improvement.

I personal feel promise is just at the tip of the iceberg... i think theres a lot more to come and I cna't fucking wait.

    so bleugh!

lol...it has proved an interseting post tho ;)

i sorta know wot sloppy's trying to say but i kwite like the venue....but if ya look at sumwhere like sugarshack, i recon that the venue is wopt makes that gud - given that the empire is a converted theatre, but ya can wander around that for aages over the three floors n little nooks n crannies...admiteadly its gon a bit crap now, but 2ish yrs ago it was class!

But CODE is fookin WANK!!!! With a capital W!!!!!! I fookin hate it!!! Foundation is a purpose built club...I think...and like Lee says is modern and trendy!! I think I know what you are on about....you like to wander....no-one does as me!!! You can in Foundation, just not as much as say the Republic or the Empire...but they are old buildings converted...so weren't built with clubbing in mind. As for the size of it.....it holds roughly 1400....the Republic only hold around 1500-1600...so isn't that much bigger as far as capacity levels go.....its just a bigger building!! So if that is what you meant, then I am talking complete bollocks.....oops!! Ignore me!!! But you will be hard pushed to find or have a new building built which is bigger!!!

    Anyway Foundation rocks!!!!! ;)

this is probobly one of the better threads we have had for a while !

my responce to the jist of the first page (ie promise becoming a superclub, our direction etc etc etc)

    is

    DONT THINK ABOUT THINGS SO MUCH !!! -- I DON'T !!!

i have been going out/djing for 12 years, mark even longer, and i no for a fact that in 1990 when i was going mental in a field to carl cox / micky finn /shades of rhythm etc etc the last thing on my mind was what's going to happen tomorrow !
that's the point of dance music, enjoy it, dont think about it too much !

you will have enough to worry about when your older

the second point about the venue,

my thoughts on this are :-

a night is good for many reasons, the dj's the music, the crowd, the sound system, the venue,
change any of them and you can change the night.
i no from experience you can have a wicked night in an average venue, move the night to a better venue, and you loose what was good about the night,
you can't always put your finger on what makes a night good,
    it just is !

i personally think foundation is an excellent venue !

i thought it was wicked when it was the riverside aswell, and that was a mess.

anyway its past my bed time !

promise is just right! it doesnt need anything to be changed..

the thing here is people are scared of possible boredom due to the week in week out walking in the promise wonderland.
I mean lets be honest we all get sick of doing the same thing everyday at work etc...we like a change. BUT, what im saying here is we are all giving ideas of what promise could be in the future as we are scared of 'getting bored of the same old thing' syndrome.

Like Rob says, dont think about the future, just enjoy what you have at the moment. In that respect i think those who are thinking of the future of promise may not be soaking everything up now - enjoying themselves at the time or the music/djs whatever......... very strange to explain i wonder if any of you understand???

    - go with the flow! thats all.

I think Mark has the best attitude for Promise as he isnt all about money - and greeding.......he thinks about the atmosphere, and the love for the club the music and the people .... which is what makes Promise stand out from others....personally, id prefer promise over any superclub in the uk!! - keep it like this and it cant be ruined!

i understand a new venue would cost a hell of alot of money, all i am saying is that i think promise as a nite deserves a better venue.

Maybe with the new room opening then it will make it more interesting, but in my opinion i find foundation at the moment boring because of its dull lighting and un-interesting layout.

i find promise as a club a bit boring wherever i am in the club i still feel as though i am still in a big box, its all very square to me.
