there's a fair few people know more than me about sound in newcastle, I'm pretty good at trouble shooting dodgy rigs though, had enough practice over the years

I work the ballrooms every week and never ever have the mixer in the red jesus holy mary look at the size of the room why on earth do you 1 need it that loud and 2 want it that loud there's just no need at all and melt i know extacly how to go on with sound systems i only sell and install them for a living it should of been down to you to tell your half witted so called big name dj's to cut the volume down like i said the size of the venue there is just no fucking need for it we have been there for along time now and we have had no problems with the managers over the sound system thats maybe coz we know what the fuck were doing anyways that KRV rigg can take sum rattle plus can you see the amps are the protect lights flickering....you cant fucking see them so how do you know it's being over driven plus your ears tell you it distorts like fuck when it's being over driven

Fair play but what the crack with the deck upstairs feeding back the manager knowing but not bothering to inform the djs or the promoter and then having no stand by deck to sort out the problem.

Pretty unprofessional from the venue on that point.

personally, i didn't think it was 'distorting' - and i know what a distort/farting amp and speaker sounds like. i was there for macc zimms with the old system when you could nothing at all - that was proper distortion. Nevermind the ropey deck upstairs which they knew about but didn't replace till gone 12

as for the big name dj's - we told these dj's half a dozen times NOT to redline the eq's or take the master any higher - we'd gaffered over the master to keep it in check

yes, we were told 3 times about the protection lights flickering on the amps and we turned it down each time. we don't want to wreck a rig do we?

there's no point going into further details as what happened - happened - you weren't there at the time so you don't know what went on - so before you come all holier than thou - please don't try to act all big and clever and hear both sides of the story, rather than what you may have picked up. luckily there was no damage to the equipment, the place was sold out, everyone came out happy.

I came out very happy, it was a quality night and i've never seen the cosmic that busy before

I left to go flyering after attempting to sort it out when the manager flat refused to put the main rig back on
