    You're always so wrong about everything!

    I "prospered" according to you, in a school where only 25% of students leave with 5 GCSEs A-C every year. Where only 34 people took A-Levels this year and this was all paid for by our council tax.

    Money well spent?

    Terry my point went way above my head, without state sponsored initiatives like education our nation wouldn't be at the advanced stage it is now.

    If the rest of the population hadn't recieved its education then the economy from which you draw a wage would not exist.

    There would not be much point, the tax is about the same there I thought?

    I was thinking more central Africa, Russia etc.

    in the grand scheme of things local councils/the government get a TINY amount of money from speed cameras...

    and its all well an good saying only those who deserve it should get benefits etc but how do you find out/decide who deserves it and who decides? you'd have to employ a large amount of highly trained people to make that idea work, which would cost a lot of money, surely being counter productive?

    i bet the lucky twats in sudan/ivory coast/iraq/etc never stop to think about the poor little english people and how much tax they have to pay :(

    It's beyond me why anyone whinges about council tax. It's needed to keep the country running, and it's not like it's anything new. Just get on with it and pay it.
