It's funny how you never really appreciate a place when you've lived there with you family. I was brought up in Winlaton, and although it does have some lovely parts to it I would never have dreamt of buying a house there. I live in Cullercoats now and love it, yet i know loads of people who live near the coast who would never contemplate going down to the beach for a walk.... it's just old hat to them obviously !!!
haha well it hasnt had very stiff competition! I only liked it so much because I made a load of top mates there, so I guess Im biased really!
them pics of seaham look mint, specially the one of the blast beach, went for a strole along there last week was v. peaceful
I've just bought a house in Gosforth I was brought up in Winlaton and defo would not venture back there again!! It seemed to have got worse and worse over the years Spent most of my teenage years in Whickham though which I loved but was a bit far from town, Gosforth is defo my idea of the best place
I am living in Jesmond at the minute but thinking of moving to Gosforth, looked at an appartment in this building today
Jesmond - where I grew up, close to town, good pubbage, pool, library, tesco, restaurants, transport links etc etc Forest Hall - still posh , nice area, still close enough from town, ok transport links, AMICI'S, the only place we could rent which allowed smokers and dogs.....
Somewhere out past ponteland or darras hall ... Belsay, Ogle or something. Nice countryside, peace and quiet.
Lad i know has just moved out of there, what he made wasnt bad but for one bedroom open planning it was appaling BUT its how it is these days. Summit like £250,000 bought for and £325,000 sold for.
I like it where i live (Four Lane Ends) and if i was to move out i would probably only move to say Forest Hall / Benton / Gosforth anyways. Ideal for links at the moment, ideal for work for both my jobs - ample shops round mine and then the towns only 12/15 mins metro away. Close ish to my mates as well and if not again the metro is.
