You're spot on there Ross. Loads of people on here rave on about Umek and Chris Liebing but they have to be 2 of the most overrated DJs I've ever seen. Umek cannot even beat match properly and Liebing is a total 1 trick poney, all he can play is bosh techno, he's got no idea how to build a set properly

Best techno DJs I've seen are Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Sven Vath and Laurent Garnier

 Umek is one of the best DJ's I have seen (technically) seen him @ Shine in Belfast..was in the booth with him as he played  I beg to differ if you say he can't beat match :p he had 3-4 decks running with tracks and lock grooves  I enjoyed it. Agreed with Leibing, he plays the harder edged techno but plays it well.

Saw Umek at Global Gathering, he was just trying really basic mixing and fucking it up, no sign of any 3/4 deck action. Maybe he was having an off day
Liebing is quite good at tricks but hard techno loses its effect if it is all hard. Needs to drop it down a touch at times. Plus he has too big a cheesy smile all the time...has noone told him techno DJs are supposed to be moody bastards!

 aye I heard Umek played a poor set @ GG. Leibing loves his job :D he's famed for his hard edge, he jumps round like a mad man when he playes...I like to see that as opposed to Hawtin/Clarks moody bastard stage presence.

I saw Liebing at Meganite. Henrik B was playing a class set but Liebing just looked like he was annoying the fuck out of him with his interfering.
