Royal Mail have one strike and they're suddenly shit?

I've posted stuff many times that's arrived the next day, sounds pretty good to me.

Infact I use it fairly often and I've never ever had a problem.

i can the the reason why you's are striking. its just the inconvieniance that it supplies that people are annoyed.

its just a case of people taking the royal mail for granted.

I don't care why they are striking, why should I care?

Feckin' Lefties, if you don't like your job go get another one.

I take it that's not a serious comment! In the last year they must have had about 5 strikes!

In the long run, they are in serious trouble - on average their workers are 40% less productive than other comparable companies and its only the restrictions on competition that the government are imposing that are stopping them from being whipped by the 'full' private sector.

They have been privatised to an extent, but they have only one shareholder - the government.

From what ive heard, they seem typical of most unionised industries with people resistant to change (which usually involves a loss of jobs as technology outpaces the need to manual labour) .... unfortunately do they have a place in a modern world?

it could take months to receive mail sent during the strike as the ypicked up anything from letter boxes on sun between the strikes and took them to a sorting office to b sorted at a later date when they had time to do it....but they're striking again which means the pile will just get bigger & not smaller. the main point to them striking is because they are being asked to work all the hours they are paid for. so if they finish their rounds 4 hrs early they go to a sorting office & help out their instead of going home for a wank.

 striking should be the last thing they should do if thats true. "Whats that? you want to replace me with a machine that can do my job better than me? I know, I'll go on strike to show you how reliable I am, that'll definately save my job"

Thats a reasonable request in my eyes, there would be quite a few funny looks if I got out my desk at 11 o clock to go home when I pass my days target.

Tossers - i had 4gb of memory for my new SLR camera coming in the post as well....

.... if this is all over royal mail workers expecting to regard a full days work as 4 hours graft in the morning and no more then they deserve to lose their jobs.
