Yogi Biomekanibblewobbledingdang - Tales from the Big Room

Downloaded this and had it on the Ipod on my way back from work last night....

    Total gash.

What is it about "hard style" that so many people love... It sounds like every tune has some stupid parping breakdown, then some variation on a snare build up to some creshendo that goes nowhere - You would have thought he would have some amazing tune mixed on the back of a build up but NOOOOOOO.... what you get instead is a massive breakdown, huge stupid build, stomping beat... then the next tune is mixed on a breakdown again!!!!!!!!!!!

That about sums up the current state of "hard" from what ive heard of it (massive disclaimer there) - Theres no point in dancing to it, or even going out clubbing to it since you spend half the night standing still waiting for the current breakdown to bloody stop so you can get the beat back.

Shamefull mentions include some track on here that mentions "raving"..... PLEASE.

Cant really say anything more about this other than its up, down, up down up down....zzzzzzzzz.

    My take anyhow :D

It's all about opinions. Personally, the harder the better. Conversly, I dislike the majority of Trance, and really see no point in house, as it does fuck all for me :p

Theres nothing wrong with "hard" music... if its done right.

Ill probably get berated by the purists - but mistress barbara was ace back a few months ago playing techno,... because i felt the music was going somewhere.... no lame breakdowns - which at the time was "hard" to me (compared to my tastes in prog/trance).... Yes techno is a world away from hard style but it shows the point that its possible to enjoy different sets if they are put together right.

Picked and mixed right, im sure i could quite possibly enjoy a "hard style" set - but parping breakdowns in every tune is just utter rubbish.... attracts the wrong crowd.

.... sounds like the eddie thread eh :)

Agreed, breakdowns get annoying after having to stop dancing for the fifth fucking time in ten minutes. That is why I prefer gabba/real hardcore.

Uberdruck and The Organ Donors are the only hard DJ's i'm totally into now, I'll still go and see Yoji at Foundation because he's technically amazing!
