    Apprently Newcastle are close to signing him.

    French, 29yrs old, defender, played at RC Lens for the last 9 years, but has only started 3 times this season.

    Anyone know if he's any good?

    That's what we want to get away from doing. Buying players just to "fill a gap" - We need to be investing in a top world class player that we'd like to play for us for a good few seasons. Somebody to take proper control of the back line. Someone as good as Woodgate was , but not as injury prone!

    Well you go give the club the money then cos guess what theyve got rock all ! which is why there going for a stop gap ! I agree we need quality but we cant afford it !
