Would you risk air travel at the moment? say if you had a backpacking holiday booked or something, would you cancel or go ahead with it? things to think about all air on planes is recycled so you have a great chance of infection if anyone on board is carrying plus all air travel could be cancelled at any time in my opinion. You could be stranded wherever you are indefinitely...
If I already had it booked sure I would still go (aslong as it weren't to Mexico). In the worst case seniro, if flights are cancelled, they usually put on flights to get UK people home Are u going away??
Yeah, there are over 6 billion people on the planet and there are nearly 3000 suspected cases. I reckon I'm statistically unlikely to get it if I get on a plane.
i fly to LA on the 20th May and i will be staying in Bakersfield which is not far from California where a couple of cases of swine flu have been reported, its wrrying like, but i am still fully intent on going, as long as this doesnt get to the point where we cannot fly by law
The British Embassy generally do a lot to get british people home. Dependant on location yes it would probably stop me from travelling.
am not going away just got back but two of my friends who i left are on the final leg of a world wide trip... i am kinda glad i am not still out there. DH> I just got back from LA holmes, raw to the core ma brother
two cases have been confirmed in scotland, which is close to where you are now It doesnt bother me, i would still fly
Just because your exposed to the virus doesnt mean your gonna get it. A cup of earl grey tea and an extra strong mint will have your immune system like fucking Popeye's. Fuck the flu.
aye good point like, newcastle to scotland is a drop in the ocean for a state the size of California. still though me and my mate took out cancellation cover today. it was £12 or summit but its worth having, you know how extreme the Yanks can be and i'd be gutted if all inbound flight got cancelled and we were out of pockets for the price of our tickets
my mam has just got back from jamaica today, all the yanks where she was were refusing to get on their flights home incase they caught it on the plane.
Flying in the opposite direction in a few weeks and WILL be getting on that plane!! haha. Some people take these 'epidemics' far too seriously. Granted, the 160 deaths are serious but at the end of the day people need to put things into perspective..the chance of catching it is rare unless you have been to Mexico or have been in contact with someone who has been to Mexico in the last few weeks.
I had same day return flight to Bristol on Monday for a meeting in Cheltenham... Sat in departures and got talking to one of the reps He pointed out a direct flight from Mexico (thomas cook i think it was) that had just minutes ago landed, and some of the ground crew refused to go to it
