Would Promise be better and busier if.......

More big name DJ's played the back room ?? now iam not knocking the DJ's that play there at the minute because they are very good especially Pete Robinson and its good to give local talent a chance but if bigger names were booked would it attract more people and a more diverse (sp) crowd? i remember the birthday party a few years ago when Kerri Chandler played the back room and you could not move upstairs, the atmosphere was awesome, would booking "big names" that more people have heard of be a good idea or not ? :D

Its fine as it is I reckon. Not worth paying money for big names when the local lads(PGR, Disko Bitch, Luke + Mark, Pete etc) can rock it really well.
    Always good music up there!

There are alot of people in the area into "house music" and they dont have many options up here to see big names attached to it, apart from the Manor Borne which is once a month and i cannot really think of anywhere else, Shindig is now alot more Progressive and book Dj's that play that style more often than not, people like Norman J, Spen, Spinner, Doctor Bob Jones would be a huge hit in the back room at Promise and the crowds would flock :D

and more expensive door prices, it works both ways, I wouldn't pay any more than £15 to get into Promise in most situations and I'm sure most people would feel the same.
Promise is predominantly a trance night.

we were gonna do the all things house thing in the back room on the 8th but Mark decided to put the date back.

We were gonna have a very special guest, but we are looking into another date.

Expect soul/funk/hip hop/disco and all things house :D

Look out for the Alibi Party soon....fingers crossed

Do you not think that up here though there is a huge paying crowd for this type of DJ, i obviously dont know how much it costs to book such DJ's but i know for sure there are alot of people who would pay the money to see them :D

i think whats he's saying is the overall door price would go up... say from 13 to 16... then less people may come - it may go under very quickly

Not in a small back room that gets packed out from the local DJ's playing there anyway.
