    Would newcastle be better off?

With another big nightclub aside from digital?

For a big city it seems ludicrous to have only the one real club for events.

    definately not another 'superclub'

we definately need 2 or 3 more smaller venues, with 2 rooms. ive said it a million times on here but ill say it again:

Digital NEED to allow the other rooms and digital 2nd room to be used as one, seperate venue. it would answer a lot of problems and solve a lot of needs.

If it was a better club it would attract more people imo.

The building opposite Coco V would make a mint nightclub.

... The toon needs a CHEAP nightclub, not some corporate, bloated nonsense like Digital.

Grime, dirt, speakers. Like MyHouse in Leeds.

Nothing new or exciting is going to start up in anywhere thats been launched or converted at great cost.

With a scene that grew out of 'diy' type parties (amongst other things) its a shame to think that clubbing in any kind of big numbers has to be arranged by an 'entertainment company' or similar bunch of parasites feeding off the masses.

..... The recent Detox venue has serious potential actually! (Half joking but i thought it was a really good venue actually).

not another big club, people aren't clubbing as much anymore - where it's a move way from dance music or whether it's cause people are skint.

i loved scotland yard, great layout

The cooperage was that for independant promoters, untill politics and sound proofing issue's caused the stop to partys.

If it re-opens for all its faults newcastle will be better musicaly for the club.

It gave poeple a chance to push musical styles that were not so commercial as they have become such Bassline,grime,Dubstep/harder techno styles and psy-trance for about a year and a half.

All things move on though just finding a good venue and avoiding the council politics is hard in this city.

There is 'other' 400 capacity Venues in town tho... ?

Venue, old fire station, Uni (Northumbria), 2nd room at NCL Uni, Stereo, Red Rooms, Camp David, The End...

The Venues are all there, it's the underground clubbing community that isn't.

I think people have become tired of some of those venues though, a new club with a good layout will refresh the scene and generate new interest imo!

The majority of any sort of big event has to be at digital it seems, it would be good to have them somewhere else aswell, an alternative.

Maybe not out & out 'Nighclubs' but there certainly availible Venues of that capacity? If not all the others are certainly worthy?

Bottom line is with Newcastle these days - clubbers have became far too fickle. Huge line-up's have & continue to be staged with piss poor turn outs, I dont know one underground night thats succeeded in passing the 2/3 years mark with thier monthly fixture, were simply not a 'clubbing' City anymore.

It's not a case of a new/more Venues, better locations, stronger line-up's - it's just trying to get people to actually turn out?

If Carlsberg made Nightclubs... yep id agree.

Reality of it is that the majority of Clubs out there dont give 2 shits about the music or the people that you can scrape in to a night. There are some mind, but getting absolutely everything right on all different levels simply isn't gunna happen up here - irrespective of how many new 'Nightclubs' are found/opened.
