    Telewest are starting trials of 10Mb/s broadband this year!

    BT are starting trials of 8Mb/s ADSL and 18Mb/s ADSL2+ broadband this year! (but you'll have to live within one kilometre of the telephone exchange for the top speeds)

    NTL are starting trials of 18Mb/s ADSL2+ broadband this year! (95% of NTL customers will be able to get the top speed)

    Easynet are starting trials of 24Mb/s ADSL2+ broadband this year! (but you'll have to live within one kilometre of the telephone exchange for the top speed)

    That could mean porn up to 480x faster than dial-up! :drool:

    But all I want is faster upload speeds... :(

    I was thinking more along the lines of my cable connection - not an ADSL line.

    ps ADSL/ADSL2 has an upload rate of ~800kb/s - it's currently capped at 256kb/s by most providers. ADSL2+ has an upload rate of approx 1024kb/s. So get your facts right first. :D

    heh the speeds are gonna get ridiculous. surely they are gonna have to charge for these new services differently. im bettin on some serious download caps, thus making them pretty much pointless anyway but we shall see.

    And yes a decent upload speed is wot im looking for too. have a mate in sweden whos just got a 4mb down 1mb up connection. now thats wot im talking about.

    Doubt it on the caps - Telewest said recently that "uncapped access appeals" after 86% of users it asked said they preferred no restrictions.

    We could do with SDSL over here anyways - ADSL is quite outdated compared with the technologies used in other countries.
