I sent this thread to Gary Proud using the Yodel Delivery network but no one was home to sign for it. Lights were on tho?
it's just commercial shirt sponsorship, bringing in a decent amount of money every year, have agreed to invest in the academy as well, and have agreed to revert the stadium name back to St James' Park, so it's win win if you ask me
we got sponsored by a loan company and the world goes crazy. Sunderland sponsored by a gambling / betting company and nobody says a thing. Because nobody ever gets into debt gambling do they???????????
you right. s gamberling company is low on the moral scale but wonga smashes it. i do think gamberling advertising should be outlawed tho
Wonga sponsor Blackpool (and Hearts) as well and it's not doing them any harm. What Wonga do isn't illegal. Nobody forces people to take out these payday loans. And even of they do take out these loans, it's clear on their website and advertising what the interest rates are, etc, so if people still go ahead with their applications after knowing the interest rates that's their problem. People shouldnt be taking out loans they can't afford to pay back no matter who it's with, whether it's from Wonga or Barclays (who sponsor the Premier League, are greedy bankers and who fucked up with all that libor stuff, but nobody in the football world battered an eyelid) It doesn't really matter who the company is on the front of the shirt as long as it's the best deal for the club, is invested back in the team, the academy and the foundation. That's all that matters. And if SMB fans really want to start taking the moral high ground, maybe they should read this article about their sponsors http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ility-of-sunderlands-new-sponsor-7893651.html
