Womens football Anyone see the engand - france game earlier? The standard is probably about 2nd division level, but some of the women on the england team were fit An entertaining 90 minutes
the swedes and norwegians are fit as fuck i challenge anyone guy to sit and watch them for the fullgame without getting a stiffy
With tv camera angles its just like watching 22 Robbie Savages run about as all you can see is the players with long hair and thats about it.
Re: Womens football womens football is far removed from mens football, the vast majority cannot compete physically, skillfully or technically, a second division team would beat any womens team... although i have witnessed some scandinavian hotties and we have a couple of foxes for england, rachel unit is one i think
Re: Re: Re: Womens football well i've never watched womens football for the skillful dribbles, on the telly anyway
Re: Re: Womens football To compare it with a premiership match afterwards was incredible. Maybe women don't get the support and training that young men do, but the standard was just so far removed. But this was a pair of national teams - and I was surprised by how poor the passing, finishing and tactical decisions were.
Re: Re: Re: Womens football when i've watched womens footy it really can be terrible quality, even the chinese/US/germany etc who are considered some of the best teams in the world just dont play a good game... its physical and lacking quality most of the time, its worse than many non league teams imo. its probably a lot down to support and popularity... i dont doubt that some women players somewhere could attempt to hack it with the men... perugia in italy were trying to change the rules and get a female registered (although perugia like publicity stunts like signing colonel ghadaffi's son, al-saadi ghadaffi) albeit unsuccessfully. many in football circles thought it was ridiculous, patronising and insulting that pele included two american female players, ,michelle akers and mia hamm in his famous top 100 list a couple of years back... fair enough they have helped develop the womens game but to suggest they merit a place when people like tom finney, wilf mannion, garrincha, bobby moore and many other notible players never made it... although he did include quite a few heavily disputible male players too...
