Wireless... Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the connection dropping every 20-30 minutes? Completely sick of downloading then having to start again because it disconnects If any one knows a way to make it more stable they will be legendary... Cheers brys
Re: Re: Re: Wireless... ive got wireless broadband, but you can connect a comp up by wire if you so wish. check the connections on the modem. it may have a cat5 (telephone) socket on it. mine come with other bits in the box
Re: Re: Re: Re: Wireless... aye it has the connections except I cant have a massive wire trailing up into my room...
Yeah it is a linksys.. Its this one Click I thought they were meant to be the best ones, linksys in general
That one's awesome, I set one like that up for my uncle and he's never had any bother with it What adapter are you using?
Thats the one we're using, and it's steady as a rock Our old netgear used to collapse every 20 minutes though Strange.
What do you mean by adapter? (not to clued up with this stuff) I can't understand it, in hinesty some days its fine other it disconnects every 10 minutes, its very hit or miss. My laptop isn't that far away from it either, basically the room below... mebbies i've messed something up when setting it up
i don't think its the router, our belkin router used to do it all the time but it doesn'rt do it anymore
Wireless Adapter As for checking settings, log into the router and set the DHCP lease time to it's possible maximum. Make sure that you've got the router situated away from any source of interference (i.e. a microwave, cordless phones etc) and for the best performance try not to use any wireless keyboards/mice/gamepads near it as they interfere
The one in my computer is a intel wireless 2200BG, so nothing special, just what it came with.... I'll have a look at that DHCP setting.. thanks
