    Wireless Router Thingy.

ok before i went to sleep last night, my home wireless network was working, as it has done for the past seven months.

today it no longers works, except that the modem is still working fine? all the lights are on and if plugged directly into a computer then I have internet access. however when plugged into the router all the pc's on the network are visible but no internet access.

nothing at all was altered last night yet how when all the machines are turned off, can they break ready for the morning? I AM MAD!

also please anyone know how to fix it, the phone monkeys at NTL didn't care as the actual internet connection is working fine.

    ta in advance.

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
my wireless network has a tendancy just to 'die' from time to time. it's rare - but it does happen. connect a cable to your wireless router and go into the network setup page / thing (oh so technical is i) and check your settings, although it is unlikey that something has changed itself :spangled: , it's worth a look. if not, reboot the router, check your connections etc etc etc... and hopefully it'll come back. not a very in depth analysis there but in my experience, when my network chucks it, there isnt anything in particular wrong, it's just given up for a bit, and needs a kick up el arse to get it going! :p

sometimes u have to reboot them in order tho

i.e :- unplug both from electric , then plug cable modem in 1st n turn it on wait till all the lites that should be on are on then do the same with the router , and if in doubt restart pc as well !!

geeks of promise. you have not failed me. :D

didn't even realise the router had a reboot switch, but after a careful examination revealed one the problem has been solved.

This reboot thing is a right old fannyache

Ours works if you flick the router off, then on, then right click on the network connection and click 'repair'.

No way to stop it happenig though :(
