    Wireless Router (again!)

I'm really beginning to wish i'd bought a different wireless kit.

The ADSL connection drops whenever it feels like it...the longest it's went is a week...

And when I sit in my dining room i get absolutley bot all wireless signal :bang:

The router is next to my monitor.....is that a problem? Works fine in the upstairs rooms though.

    Getting on my tits!

Aye but I payed £120 for the lot!

I purposefully spent extra to make sure it would work all round my house and in the garden.

It's too late to return it now I think :(

I might email dabs about it

I should have went linksys like...

    Spence...

Chris - just out of curiosity, are you operating mixed wireless (802.11b & g?)

If so switch off b (set it to g only). I had a similar problem to this with my uncle's belkin router and that fixed it.

Failing that, try knocking your bw down to 56mbps instead of 108. You're not going to use that kind of bandwidth anyway.

If you're looking at replacements, I got this router and it's been the dogs. My laptops using a cheap AMD alchemy wireless card and my two pcs are using a belkin USB wireless g dongle and an SMC g internal card. It's all rock solid

I mean that I spent a bit more so that it would work with a strong signal! I've emailed netgear so lets see what they say.

Cheers for the tip conway, ill try that.

I'd rather leave it with 108mpbs compatibility though, I often send large files over the network so I might aswell get as good a speed as I can
