wireless networks Is it possible to have a wireless network between two houses that are about 40 meters apart?
hhmm... maybe - you'd need a really good router and have it as high as possible (i.e. the top floor/loft) internal walls are ok - external ones are the problem
wireless N is the strongest and i dont think they can stretch that far. unless ya can plant a signal booster half way which is probably out of the question Lee
Re: wireless networks Totally possible. It depends on how good the antennas are at each end. With one of my laptops I can pick up our signal from work which is about 60 meters away from my flat. The other one can't even see the work network nevermind connect to it. To maxamise the radius of a wireless router put it in the apex of your roof as that means that the signal does not have to pass through walls to get to anywhere in your house or outside.
It might be worth looking at access points that support bridging (basically link two wired networks together). These are the best access points I've used for signal strength over distance. They also support bridging. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...177241&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper you may need to find someone who knows how to set it all up though as it's a little complex.
