wireless netowork help right ive got a wireless netowrk to try and set up anyone know how? using a belkin network card in my hosuemates cvomputer i have the net running through a router in a wireless network access point, ny computer is plugged directly into the access point and accesses the net fine my housemate has all the drivers installed correctly but it still doesnt qwork properly anyone know why?
nah the router that connects to the net is an addon arm1800, just bought it today, and it connects fine, the wireless access point is a netgear 54 mbps wireless router the netowrk card my housemate has in his comouter is a belkin 54g pci card cheers
you getting any error messages? Does this AP need setting up via a webpage? just it may need to be assigned an IP address.
possibly, ive installed everything on the computer i shud do but it just wont recognise there being a signal there, but the wireless access point works cos im running my net through it i think the network card in the back of the pc isnt working properly
that could just be windows being gay. download netstumbler from www.netstumbler.com, install it on the machine with the wireless card and see if it picks up a signal.
ive installed that and clicked on the play button to scan for a signal at the bottom it flashed no APs found, im guessin AP stands for access points? so the problem lies with the netgear wireless router u know how to configure it? or help to sort it?
I've never used netgear stuff, best thing to do is read through the manual and make sure it's set up correctly. Check the wireless card too (right click my computer, click manage and then go into device manager), make sure it's working correctly and there are no resource conflicts.
