Sorry, I'm not very up to date with technology atm :p What new things is this OS going to bring? Anything special or just faster?

it's just XP re-written to run on a 64bit architecture... the OS will be faster, smoother, although there's no apps written for it yet.

Worth a shot though! Get it installed!

    Install it.

Get tjhe FULL version 1st tho cos its fully released now.

ALtho there aint many 64bit apps, the kernal has been completely replaced.

So its running onWindows 2003 server kernal instead of the old XP one.....much faster and more stable basically.

Wont do any harm to install iut

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
you wont really see many benefits until thy start writing more 64bit apps, as sleeps says, wont do any harm installing xp64 if you have a 64 bit processor, but i certainly wouldnt go out of my way to get one just for it.... not yet, anyway.

64bit code can address more memory etc etc etc....

it aint "twice as good" - but its noticeably better.

more so just because the xp kernel has been replaced.
