you'd probably get it installed but u need a decent graphics card to get full advantage - plus i'm not sure if any of the packages with be 100% compatible - plus sound card drivers may have issues

if you use your laptop seriously - i wouldn't bother. if you're a trendy - try install it yourself, fuck it, get you IT mate to fix it and revert back to XP

No, they nack the quality unless the hi-def display is linked via a cable that supports HD protection to a graphics card that also supports it.

So your computer is perfectly capable of playing it, your screen can play it, you've bought an HD disc......and Vista won't let you because you've not got the 'right' graphics card.

    Bag of shit

am I right in thinking after reading dodgys post, that Vista is in effect a means of preventing any illegal activity involving the use of emerging content or any content such as HD etc on PCs?

It sounds like horribly what I imagine Norton would produce if they did OS's....

not sure norton would go to such lengths though ;)

i know what they're trying to do - but it goes against what an OS is for - it's meant to allow u to use your computer how you want.

However, with everyone and their granny having computers nowadays they're having to compromise for non-IT literate people to be able to use them.

basically, Vista is for non-ITers - if u want to get the BEST from a computer and know what you're doing - there's better out there.

Surely it must be possible to make a linux type thing to read HD discs though - I mean, if you've got the hardware and windows can do it then it's just a case of software, surely?
