    Windows update help?

I keep getting this error (0x80072EE2) everytime I try and use windows update with my XP PC.

The computer also allows me to view this board, but everytime I go and try to post I get the page can't be displayed error and it doesn't post....

Any ideas, are the two things connected?

Yeah I have a firewall, could it be that causing the problem?

Turn it off...then try to connect to windows update.

If it works, then you most probably have your firewall configured incorrectly. Make sure you turn it back on as soon as you have established that it is/isn't the cause of the problem!

    Are you using Zone Alarm?

If so you can manually add Microsoft to your Trusted Zone and turn the security settings to medium or low, that will do the trick.....it's most likely to be on High if you have never altered it yourself.

Sound, then it will be easy to sort.

If you go into the Zone settings, then trusted zone, click add, and then put the microsoft web address in....security is lower in the trusted zone than in the general internet zone...that SHOULD sort it out :)

    No probs
