Windows 98 startup disk I'm formatting and reinstalling everything on a mates comp... ive tried to create a startup disk in 98 itself but it buggers up like most things on the comp do!! Hence the format and reinstall!! Someone told me about right clickin on A:\ and create boot disk that way.. did that... Have tried rebootin the comp and it either didnt recognise the disk or gave me and I/O error.... now i'm annoyed!! Is there anywhere i can download a startup disk or some other method of creating one?!
If your getting an IO error you might wanna double check your floppy drive connections. I reckon your floppy drive is fooked. Anyway, why don't you just change your boot sequence to look at the CD first. It's bootable and has everything you need.
I know it is.... and would if i could.... There's no handy message when it boots up sayin press DEL to enter setup.. it just skips through it all v fast and starts runnin windows!! And why does it say "Warning, cover previously removed!" each time the comp is switched on??? Is that some kind od Dell built in feature?!
