Windows 7 Just been havin a snoop about on microsofts website at this new operating system, every year windows starts to look more and more like Mac looks nice tho, Nodoubt bugged to fuck. CLICK HERE
apparently they've learnt their lesson with Vista (which isn't really bugged - just not compatible with other stuff) and this will run on slower machines much better. i've got a unreleased beta build of it running i got in December. i quite like it.
Really?, so it worth gettin m8?, ive heard its alot better to run on slower machines. Cant say am a fan of vista anyway its caused me a number of serious problems lol CPU cooler failure n all sorts, i'll be glad to see the back ot it
windows has seemingly ran out of new ideas, cribbing Mac out of every design and advertising process that thay can when i first get vista i was incredibly annoyed at it, now i can just about bear it. the only thing that annoys me is that i just can't play many games without my CPU going mental and getting too hot and/or RAM being slaughtered by the gigabyte that vista seems to need to run with regardless if you have anything running or not. XP Rocks - they've been updating it and de-bugging it for years, it's tried and tested and is compatible with everything. why they changed the format massively is beyond me. i'm going to get a macbook this year tho to see what all the carry on is about
They've all got this great big idea, terminator 3 style set in there minds u can see it a mile off but their failing miserably, i mean what the fuck is goin on lol, i remember my dad telling me, in the 60s n 70s they predicted there wud be flying cars by the year 2000 & clever human-like robots. Were all gonna die by nothing more than a fancy touchscreen laptop & snazzy mobile in our pocket
Homour me here...how can software make your CPU cooler fail?? Vista has excellent compatibility, I've been using it over a year and not had a single issue...far more stable then XP. Yes it needs decent kit but again, the bad reviews comes from people trying to run it on machines with 512mb RAM and retailers selling it on too cheap hardware. Too many opinions based on old hear-say if you ask me. There is a new fully public beta of Windows 7 now available http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx
Heres ur humour... if u go into My computer, do a disk cleanup, theres boxes to Tick, if u Tick the Hibernation File Cleaner box and clean the files it wipes them for good, it shudnt but it does = when u stick ur pc/laptop into Sleep as many do while working, when u power back up ur cpu cooler wont move a cm. Am sure there might be a patch for this, but i went into the guts of the system & disabled the sleep option case it ever happens again. But other than that, and the odd fuckup here & there its nice, am gonna use any excuse to convince my self to buy windows 7
i've got the official Window 7 Beta on my spare test box - a P4 2.8 with 1GB and it's running very nicely - it's quick, smart looking, similar menus to vista but a different system tray. looks like they've listened - i'm very impressed.
Deffos listened like ive saw alot of demos on it now n writeups n it sounds much better, at the min im ready to fucking smash my laptop like lol its trippin off when i insert anything into 1 of the USB ports, really annoying Gonna get the windows 7 soon
buying a new laptop with vista premium on at teh end of the month and seriously thinking about sacking the vista off and getting this straight away
when's the official release of this tho? i'm sick of switching between Vista and XP on this laptop
What sort of coin we looking at for this like???Ive had no problems with vista but love anything new and shiny
Fair play, i'm not trying to say you're wrong or anything but I've not suffered any hardware failures or any issues from doing it (which I do from time to time to speed it up a bit). Plus if you dont hear your CPU cooler start...did a reboot not fix it? If your machine no longer offers the option and/or the file doesnt appear in disk cleanup you can check the status of what sleep/hibernate functions you have by running "powercfg -a" from a command line If you have sleep and hybrid sleep enabled, then hibernate doesn't actually show as an option (by design). One of the big reworks for this compared to XP in Vista with hybrid sleep enabled, the contents of your RAM get dumped to your hard disk (you still just take the 'sleep' option), so even if you lose power during a sleep you still pick up from where you left off. if you want the hibernation file back, simply enable it with "powercfg -h on" edit: you may find this useful, good explanation of the sleep modes http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/335c6a5d-0304-4af1-b135-6bf6c124dc111033.mspx Personally I think it's a great improvement over XP! Sorry for the rant I'm going to try and give active feedback on Windows 7 to MS, some people end up getting genuine retail copies as a result! Currently due for release around September I believe
I ana m8 av done all that but everytime a went into run as admin n done the powercfg it was working, then after a restart went bk to it's old ways a think it's alot to do with the version of vista a installed on this as a got a new Hard drive a while bk. The cooler does work after a restart but if a wasnt payin attention to notice it was off when this happend it wud probly fuck my cpu all together. A was totally baffled when it first happend as a use to work as a computer engineer in gateshead, n a had all sorts of problems flung at me soon as a walked in the door on a morning lol, but never this. I agree on vista being better than xp, but am kinda fedup with it now its not that bad ill admit that, just my shit luck a had those unknown problems lol. Am all up for trying windows 7 now tho
Running this on my work pc instead of vista home premium and there's a massive improvement like, seems more compatible to my network ( old windows 2000 server ) and dosent clash with the xp pro pc's like vista used to !!
