    Wimbledon FC

Wimbledon where tonight relegated by SAFC.

I sad night for football and I don't see Wimbledon recovering from this....... the problems with the ground move etc. have left the club and its supporters strained to say the least........

I have always had a soft spot for Wimbledon since the late 80's & early nineties when they where hated by most of the football world for their bully boy tactics and use of the long ball.

The club was brought from non-league to the Premiership in something like 15 years...... amazing. They team that contained soccer legends like Dennis Wise and John Kay ;) had to train with cabbages sometimes as they couldnt afford footballs! and once got fined for the whole team dropping there shorts and showing their arses to the crowd!!

If I lived in London Id support them.

Fash the Bash - Match Fixer and Grade A nugget.

I liked Beasant & Vinny Jones though.

Think the Celtic board tried and failed in an audacious attempt to buy there place in the English league.

Andy Thorn was canny. Alan Cork did a job. Terry Phean was annoying but a good fullback. Eric Young was a big solid centre half. The list is endless

Its sad for Wimbledon like thats for sure !

I remember when Beasant saved that pen in the cup final all those years ago and from it Newcastle United signed both him and Andy Thorn for the 88/89 season  - Beasant let in about 200 goals in 10 games or summit and Thorn was more like a pansy

They were hated Wimbledon but still battled in there, this ground change thing has totally fucked them and like Pike says i cant see them ever getting to where they were at at the top !

Actually when i think about it there's more shit players to go with the two that i named :

    Carl Cort
    Andy Thorn
    Dave Beasant
    Warren Barton

I would be even happier if they had move to Northern Ireland as proposed.

They would have been a top 5 Prem team now with a top 3 crowd average.

Dennis Wise is like Robbie Savage.

If he doesn't play for you, you hate him, if he does you absolutely love him cos he winds the opposition up like fuck!!!! :argue:
