Worked Shindig lots of times (lights).

It is deffo one of the best 'house' nights in the UK.

It has the feel of events such as Rise or Love To Be that are distant fond memories now.

Anyone off here ever go to Rise? It was THE night in Sheffield before Gatecrasher came along.

I have been a few times and enjoyed it. The crowd seem to be nice enough if you talk to them, but they rarely seem to make the first move to talk to anyone. I haven't been for a couple of years though. Would like to go again soon.

I've been quite few times and it's not really the night I dislike it's the crowd like SmartE says. Everyone seems to busy posing, I'd rather just listen to house music when I'm sitting at home.

I was just tellin Fitzy about this on Sunday when he said he had been to Shindig. He made a good point though - very nice ladies.

    :D :p

    Well......

Gotta respect the fact there doing well n that and this weekend even more so as im told its Eric Morillo(aka older Kieron Dyer) and Pete Tong so thats a good a line up ya ever gonna see - i think its summit to do with Radio 1 too innit ??

Its not my cuppa Tea really as i dont think the clothes/image that i have fits in really - i mean its all Labels n Try Hards from what im told - Steve Lawler is a DJ that i wanna see there actually as i missed him the other month/week.....

Different crowd to Promise tho innit but still good for Newcastle :D

Remembers slagging Shindig off a long long time ago but takes it all back *lick lick*

    :D :D :p ;)

i've only been to the Shindig once - i enjoyed it except that the majority of people there were stuck up...................def not as friendly as the promise crowd..............i enjoyed the music & as i know sum people who go there on a regular basis i found it good...........

if there wasn't so many stuck up people that went to the shindig i twould b a better place to go....

I may be goin for Morillo & Tongy on Saturday ;)

    That will rock big style.

You could always ask DJs what they think. Simon's played both. Asking him to choose which was better would be ludicrous though, two different nights with different policies.

pretty much sums it up, tho to be fair, most of them are pretty ok really... it's the coolest night in Newcatle, any night of the week, so you do get the poseurs out, but they are easy to spot and avoid!

It's an older crowd, and quite dressy, but jusr cos a babe is in a posh frock, donesn't mean they don't want it bad

Some of my best ever nights in Foundation have actually been in Promise... Deep Dish last Sept, Steve Lawler, Danny Howels...

Satoshi Tomie and similar djs are tedious as F***

It's an Essential Mix party :D Spoke to The Man on Monday (see today's paper ;) ) and he said he's doing a warm-up at Stereo before hand too. It's a really big deal for Newcastle really as they're only doing a few live things from a few select clubs - Shindig was chosen to be the first....

True, not gonna head down that path as we've been there before. Both nights rock in their own distinctive way.

depends what u consider cool... I personally think the promise backroom folk are far cooler than the diggers ina try hard sence (as are the playrooms crowd).... hwoever the coolest crowd in my eyes is the promise... so much variety :D
