    Who will the Toon buy?

It is claimed that we have already bought Kleberson, plus Brett Emerton is supposed to be coming for 2.5m.

If the rumour's are true about the above then that will be it for the midfield, but I still think that Robert needs more competion for his position. If Darren Ambrose is the answer then fair enough, but how good would it be to get Damien Duff.

I still think we need another right back. Possibly Steven Carr or Steve Finnian.

Another centre half as Titus is just not ready to perform week in week out at the top level. We should break the bank for maybe William Gallas, Alessandro Nesta or John Terry. Martin Taylor of Blackburn as been metioned recently, but IMO Robert Ayala would fit the bill perfectly.

I can't see us buying another striker, but if we did then we could do a lot worse than to buy James Beattie for Shearer's replacement, but I think that may well happen at the start of the 2004 season.

What does everyone else think then?

beattie, dunn and john o'shea to go with kleberson.

o shea is just what we need.
    beattie for obvious reasons
dunn because he isnt happy, and im sure robson hs got his eye on him.
Kleberson because he wants to play for us.

rivaldo aint to happy at ac milan now either....

David Dunn is a good player but if he is playing the playboy lifestlye at Blackburn imagine what he would be like with Dyer and Co in Newcastle. Plus he is not an out and out winger and we have Viana for his position, so would probably have to get rid of him to get Dunn.

Can't see Man Utd letting O'Shea go, Ferguson really rates him.

Look waht Gerard Holliuer said about Rivaldo, he would just not be financially viable for Newcastle Utd.

    Beattie and Duff for me.

Possibly one more top class centre back to play with Woodgate.

Beattie is the closest thing there is to a Shearer, they are almost identical in style. They do all the exact same things well. Which means he is the perfect compliment for Bellamy. Shearer is probably a bit more agressive than Beattie, but Beattie is slightly better technically.

If we cant get Duff, Kewell might be available, though id rather have Duff. Less of a primadonna. More consistent too. Both top class though.

i wouldn't mind seeing duff at the toon but i reckon he's got his sights set on bigger and brighter tings.

gary speed plays a holding role for newcastle and his absence from the side recently has been very noticeble. they need to buy a like minded player. i'm thinking michael carrick. it looks likely that west ham will go down now so i reckon he could be made available, on the cheap me thinks!

west ham will be ripped apart if they go down. they have got the 6th highest wage bill in the prem and there's no way they will be able to afford that in divsion one!

beatie would be an intersting signing though.

although soton won't let him go. they don't need to and not many teams around can afford to pay stupid prices.

A right back is needed free agents like Cafu & Stevie Carr appeal to me or maybe Fulhams Steve Finnian.
With Robert & Bernard having no competition for their places maybe Arca who can play as wingback & winger would be good player to sign.
When Gary Speed hasn't played we have missed his steadying influence & aerial ability maybe some one like Oliver Dacourt from Leeds could be brought in to do a job.

Theres no way Man United will sell John O'Shea, hes been the Premierships best rising star since Michael Owen burst onto the scene IMO.

Rumour has it that Man United are after Patrick Kluivert, they will be unstoppable with him and horse head up front next season and will no doubt retain the title that is in the bag now because Arsene Wenger's 'France all stars' have lost thier bottle :D

Good player, but far too much of a liability. I think even Sir Bobby would have his work cut out dealing with him. If we are getting Kleberson and Emerton then we will not be buying Bowyer, IMPO it would be a good thing.

Need a defensve midfielder....desperately!!! When Speed's out we struggle badly. Dyer, Jenas, Viana...none of these are defending midfielders. Carrick would be good or even Bowyer, even though I think he is still more attacking minded. Right wing we've got Solano and Ambrose and left we've got Robert and if neede Viana.

Defense wise I think we need another top class centreback (even though I think given a little more time Bramble can still produce the goods!!!) Don't need a right back, Griffin and Hughes can do the job although Bernard may need some more cover (Quinn and Elliott.....NO!!!)

Forward wise I would personally go for Kluivert!!! I know Beattie has knocked the goals in but I still don't rate him that highly. Kluivert on the other hand is very much like Shearer and in a much better class than Beattie. However Amoebi given his chance could easily do a job.

So I would like to see another better class centre back, defensive midfielder and striker brought in...not much to ask is it?!?!??!!

We need to sign some lanky bastards with good aerial ability. We have got loads of small midfielders and the full backs are not the biggest either meaning at times we only 3 or 4 players who are really good in the air.
We also need to sign some 'NOW' players as we have got loads of players with potential.

we need some defensive minded midfielders like speed, cause we r fukkin class going forwards, but once we loose the ball, were shite backtracking. have u got them programmes mr the spence, cheers, if u didnt manage to get them dont worry abbbbbouuuuut it *hugh grant in that mobstor film, cant remember the name*
