Going to move to whitby for a year for my placement on monday can anyone give me any info on whitby ie on places to go things to do etc. It looks okay but not exactly the liveliest place in the world. Ta

bloody hell mate ......... whitby is very quiet youd have to venture out to get a decent night .... depends what your looking for .... but as far as the locals go whach yourselll theyl look at you AS FRESH meat ....weh hey

Cheers mate sounds tremendous looks like I will back to newcastle evey other weekend. Just wanted to see if there was anything worth stopping down for.

well you could see if theres owt on at tall trees sometime (but very rarely these days) gets some decent nights

Yeah seen that threre were lots of chip shops. Apparently it is where dracula was wrote and some weekend in oct the goths etc all come down to celebrate it. Looks like its gona be an exciting place

Its full of inbred's. You will get the chance to go to Whitby's only nightclub, Laughtons, or laughtons as it’s called. Basically you have opted for a year of hell.

If you are lucky, you might see ginger haired mad Colin, who kicks an imaginary football around the streets.

Watch out for the smackheads though, the place it full of them.

Other than that, it is a lovely place to live, but only for a short time. Oh, the Regatta is good fun, but avoid folk week, its fucking torture! Loads of random lunatics singing about pigeons and lost love in the pubs. Horrible stuff.

I let a shop in Whitby about 2 and a half years ago, when i worked in York. Was to some mobile phone accessories retailer. :spangled:

Dont know anything about the place though. Never went there. Never even seen the shop. Sounds like the end of the earth tbh.
