Which websites are the cheapes/best to get PC hardware/systems?

I'm doing an upgrade this week with pretty much everything except the monitor and kb/mouse. I've had a look at pre-built systems on www.komplett.co.uk and www.aria.co.uk and they seem to be cheapest and offer the best customizable options. Buying components myself however is a strong possibility and I've also been looking ad the cpu/mobo/ram bundles on offer but before I go ahead and spend my money, I thought I'd just check with anyone here who's bought stuff lately if there are any other good websites. overclockers, ebuyer, scan, dabbs don't really seem that cheap anymore :(

be careful tho, buying budget parts can lead to hardware failure, especoally with psu's and ram

Yeah, I'm going for branded stuff but i want to make sure I've getting it all as cheap as possible :p I already have a Thermaltake psu which I think is 500W so that should be ok for the system i've chosen so far, which is:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67GHz 1333Mhz Socket LGA775, 4MB, BOXED w/fan
    Asus P5K, P35, Socket-775, DDR2, ATX, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16
    Corsair TWIN2X 6400C5DHX DDR2, 2048MB Kit w/two CL5 1GB Dimm's, E.P.P and DHX
Thermaltake Blue Orb II CPU Cooler, Blue Light, 17dBA Socket 775/754/939/940
    Gainward GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3, PCI-Express
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
    Logitech X-230 2.1, 2 Satellites and Subwoofer, 32W RMS
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse 2007, USB

I'm gonna have to do some research with the ram though as i have no idea what all that crap means.

The thing i hate about ebuyer is that some things are evenly priced with other sites, but then some stuff is way overly priced so if you're gonna buy stuff from there, you need to double check the price with other sites whereas with komplett, you know you're getting pretty much th best price around. Example:

    Gainward GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3, PCI-Express - £229 on komplett. £275 on ebuyer

@ Lee - I have a razor mouse that I didn't like.. it was too light but with the one I've chosen in that list, you get weights to add/remove to your hearts content :p Also, isn't the razor stuff still aimed at gamers who use a high mouse sensitivity in games? I personally use a lower sensitivity than a lot of people used to in Unreal Tournament so the razor didn't suit me much at all compared to my Logitech. As for postage costs, Komplett offers it for about £6. Everything from there is looking pretty good price-wise so I just need to double check a few of the popular sites incase I'm paying more than I should be on anything.

    @WorldonFire - That's what I was thinking :p

I found my perfect settings after playing that game repeatedly for about 4 years though so no mouse was gonna stroll in and change that :fart:

Just had a quick look there, and for the same cpu i've chosen, some mobo and what looks to be unbranded ram they're charging £351. Fair enough you get a case and a psu but you could probably get that for £60 plus the psu wouldn't be of any use.

Hmm what sort of budget limits do you have?

I'd be tempted to say go for the Q6600...it's not massively more expensive than the E6750...

I'm not sure.. I'm not paying for it all but I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible but still having decent hardware that can play all the new games etc. I was told to go for the core2due rather than the quads. I dunno why.

Hmm other than budget I can't see why...quad core is the next step. The Q6600 is pretty much the best chip available at the minute and theres also a load of even newer stuff out reasonably soon

So i'd say if your budget allows for it, go Quad!
