Which is more important to u?

    Tune selection or the mixing...

when u go out to see a dj...

EG i aint a big fan of Techno, but when i saw Dave Clarke, i was blown away by his mixing... that alone put a big grin on my face, :D

then again, I ve seen loads of djs whose mixin is good, but then its the tunes they play that do it for me...

    what do u think?

    both!!!

it isnt that much to ask!!as long as the mixing is ok and no horrendous fcuk ups the tunes can easily be made amazing!!

It's like saying what is more important, air or lungs?

One is pointless without the other.

God that was deep for me

    both

the whole point of a dj is to interact every aspect of ure music into one continuous blend thats the tunes blend well together and also ure mixin has to blend together.

When you are paying money to see a professional dj you expect them to be able to mix and play good tunes ! :D

Mixing dosnt really make any difference as long as its "ok".

Going to see Dave Clarke and being impressed is like going to see Pele ....... even if u hate football u would be amazed.

Gotta agree with most peeps - both.

When u pay to see a DJ play you want to hear them mix well and play some quality tunes. You can sit in the house and listen to quality tunes all night but when someone is mixin them together and reading the crowd thats what you pay your money for.

One without the other would'nt justify paying £10 IMO :D :p

Its got to be both... good mixing compliments good tunes and vice versa.

without good mixin then the tunes sound poo. without playin good tunes noone wants to go see you play. they both important. the mixin side to it became much more important wen i got my dex and realised just how hard it was!!
i think playing the crowd is almost as important as the mixin and tunes tho.

both! but ;) a lapse in mixin quality can be forgiven, eg if the dj fucks up one or two mixes you wont really remember... but if the dj drops a really fucking terrible tune, itll stay with you for quite awhile...

Both are important! I'd probs say more on the mixing side for me just for the fact a professional dj should be able to mix! Don't get me wrong I love it when great choons are dropped but I expect to hear quality mixing when I'm out! If I had to choose then mixing I suppose - but choon selection is tres important too!
