Which DVD RW? I have been on the hunt for a DVD writer for quite some time, but I have taken the time to look into it to find what offeres the best features and excellent value for money. I have narrowed it down to these three units: NEC Model £52.41 LG Model £48.56 Plextor Model £60.87 - Most expensive, yet it doesn't support dual layer, so I assume it is a very high quality unit. At the minute, I am thinking the NEC, as it has the best performance out of the three. It is also available in black, which I need for my PC.... So, Juski ( ) what would you choose?
none of the above at all, pioneer 108 all the way , 16xall + rc1 patch on the way , dl too !! £60 ish ...fidds...
pioneers are usually the 1st to get patched to rc1 and fastest burning speed x all , eg :- burning a 4x @ 16x without any errors , onto my 3rd pioneer dvd burner now , wudnt use owt else tbh !! 105 107d 108 ...fidds...
I also read that article. Arn't the PC Pro labs great I am buying from scratch, I havn't got one at the minute. The pioneer didnt seem to have as many features as the NEC or the LG though... I think I will get the NEC Cheers for the advice
one advantage to buying pioneer... they are what the majority of the industry uses to tests its media, so they do tend to be good.
Yes that is another advantage of pioneer , dvd-r compatability , some of the others had teething problems with certain makes and speeds , the pioneer has pretty much all these problems ironed out ! ..fidds..
Hmm perhaps I should go for the Pioneer then..... I have bought a pack of 10 imation DVD-R disks...so I want to obvously go for something with good DVD -R compatibility. I have used imation CD-R's before and had no bother, are the DVD's equally as respectable? You guys think Pioneer then aye? It came 4th in the PC Pro labs test which is very good.
yeah, as a rule in terms of compatibility, at least - you cant go far wrong with pioneer, as ive said they are the industry standard basically...
