    Not posted on the board for ages, but whats happened? It's so quiet and MOS has left?!! MOS was the board... :(

    We should block people being able to just view threads as there is a rediculous amount of 'Lurkers' that scour the forum & dont post anything... this way it would force them to log in or at least register & have some input (Kinda like the mixes section is now). Some days im on here theres like 4 members (not posting a thing) & 50'odd guests...

    A board is only as good as its members contributions :)

    New faces are always welcome, and there are ideas and things in the pipeline to encourage that.

    I suppose when it was promisealways.com there was an INLET for new users pushed by the existance of the club. Now that has gone, this board sits alone on the internet and nobody will know about it unless they search for it .... hence my podcast party idea (that didnt even need to involve a podcast party, just a promotion of a domain name).

    I agree with Proudy like, far too many lurkers, spying on us but not posting!

    but tbf I am normally one of those guests viewing as I have to shut my browser all the time with the programmes i use at work so can never be bothered to login unless i am gunna post something.

    If the nucastle.co.uk address was displayed on everyones flyer as a mark of support, then it would get ingrained in the minds of the clubbers of the north east (and anyone who visited).

    Bosh. Instant visitors.

    Look how simple other companies create viral sites and ads just through simple repetition or cross-marketing of stuff. Its dead simple.

    I suppose there's good points for and against blocking lurkers from seeing the board.

    I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't - if they can see what goes on, they may feel strongly enough to sign up and contribute if they like the look of the board.

    A large amount of the traffic from the board is coming from facebook, usually from people linking threads/sharing links.

    I have been looking at modifying the board so people can use facebook to log onto it, but I'm not sure what people's thoughts on this are.... It would be one way to make the board easier to join and post.

    Another thing I can do is set up the board so promoters get their own web address (like jaunt.nucastle.co.uk or vice.nucastle.co.uk) and when people load up the board from that address, it comes up complete with their logos and links to their next events.

    I'm also trying (and failing ;)) to get an iPhone friendly version of the board working.

    I'd welcome suggestions if people have ideas on how to improve this place.

    Im guilty of it too, but theres ones that just scour the forum day in day out & never have any input, if there was a block on viewing the content inside a thread you'd find a lot more people actually signed up or logged in.

    I could be wrong, just an idea tho?
