    howdy

im looking to buy some new decks and was wondering which to get?

seeing as most people on here seem to be fairly clued up about this sort of stuff any thoughts and comments would be more than welcome

ive narrowed my seach to 3 different decks

    numark ttx1

    vestax pdx2000

    tecnics 1210

    which are best?

    thanx:)

dont know as much as most but my old tt1's had more torque than technics... dont know if that means owt to ya!

probs go for the technics as thats whats everywhere... tis hard to go from learnin on tt1's an going onto technics, even harder to go onto vestax!

well thats from my experience mate... :)

an go for the 12oo's, they're prettier! ;)

vestax are 'best' but most clubs have technics...

i found the pitch well weird on the vestax...

but jus go an see which you like best, go on em at shops an mates houses as much as poss before you buy, thats your best bet...

vestax have more to them i.e. reverse play, but ive never heard anyone use this well before!!they have more toque than 1210s but 1210s are pretty much club standard so if your looking to progressing onto playing in clubs then get used to 1210s!

Technics id say - not cos i have a pair myself but just for the fact that if your wanting to play out at clubs / gigs one day then its more than likely goign to be them !

If you own technics you can play on vestax no bother, i have heard people tho that have vestax say they struggle when moving onto technics - not just one person either !

Its all to do with the pitch and that !

Technics are an investment and dont lose there value and IMO there fucking good value for money !

If i hadnt of got mine cheap id of got vestax one day

Used to like them alot and was comfortable on them altho ive never looked back now

If you want to dj in a club you're wasting your time with anything but technics.

If not get the vestax, they are far better in every aspect except looks.

its true! i have little interest what so ever in scratching, it doesnt sound right in my opinion

so it seems techincs are best if wanting to play in a club - something i would love to do, however the only place possible to get a set would be in a small time cheese enduced pikey club:spangled:

vestax seem to be a close second - mainly for bedroom djs (like me) who arent really that bothered about playing out

nobody has mentioned the new numark ttx1 - are they shite?

ttx1's are good on paper but they're new so reliablity an shit hasn't been proven yet...

i got the 1st numark tt1's an i like them better than my new technics!

probs jus what i'm used to tho...

go for technics, cos you don't really use all the extras on the vestax ttx1's...

it all comes down to preference - best bet is to try both, see which u like the feel of then learn from there. i like the solidness and robustness of the technics. They feel well engineered which makes u feel comfortable with them. i think vestax are tacky and look plasticy, although they are an excellent turntable and i was suitably impressed by the torque... IMO

I have Vestax PDX2000 at home and really like them, like other people have said in the thread it is a bit weird for a couple of mixes when you play on Technics after Vestax but its no big problem at all. I would rule out the Numarks completly and go for either the Vestax or Technics depending on which you are most comfortable with.
Technics are used everywhere so they maybe your best bet if your upgrading from a starter set.:)
