That line is one of the most annoying things about my job

NO IT ISNT TOO FUCKING SMALL YOU CANT EVEN FIT STUFF ON THE SCREEN ITS SO BIG

    Muppets

I have 1280x1024, simply because thats the highest my monitor will go, although i wouldnt run it higher cos then it does become a strain on the old peepers

Its a san diego core Athlon 64 processor.
Basically its an underclocked 1.35v Athlon fx-57.

Therefore, depending upon stepping of the chip (in this case CABNE) and the manufacturing date (0545, 2005 45th week) you could theoretically overclock and supply a few more volts to allow the chip to run at the same speed as a £600/£700 processor.

    And for £180. :D

doesn't overclocking reduce the life expectancy of your processor though

and what speed we talking here?

It doesn't really affect the life expectancy if the chip was manufactured using a process that manufactured highly clocked processors.

    Goin from 1.8ghz to ~2.8/3Ghz.
    On air.
    With low load temps :)

Just awaiting the arrival of a lovely G Skill 2GB PC4000 DDR set before I start cranking up the HTT :D

Are you aware exactly how fast a Athlon 64 is at 3Ghz??!??!?

Dude thats faster than any production chip readily available at the moment. Inclusive of everything with exception of the X2 and Dual Core P4s.

Its gonna fucking fly! :D

Its a cas 3 kit.. therefore the timings are pretty loose to allow for some tweaking in the fsb.

That kit is setting me back £158.

TBH if your not a hardcore overclocker and your just looking for the memory space then have a look at the corsair value select 2gb set here...

    Good value for money!

I suppose you could buy 4gb in 2x2gb sets but I'm unsure if you could run them dual channel though..

The PS3 is not a readily available manufactured CPU.
Infact it ain't even a CPU.. its a system.

The CPU inside it, the "Cell", is a multicored processor.
However it isn't actually a multicore processor.. iirc there are 9 virtual cores.. it was described differently in the article I read but it gave that impression.

So.. therefore as it is a multicore processor it is exempt from the argument.

I still have one of the fastest clocking singlecore processors on the market :)
