What may be the last RESISTANCE - FRI 10.03.06

Its all been arranged a bit last minute, in keeping with anything that anything we have ever done, but on Friday the 10th of March we will be having what at the moment will be our last ever Resistance.

Its a real shame that this will fall on the same night as Habit, and if I could of helped it it would have been a different date but as it stands the current stand-in manager leaves on Sunday the 12th and no-one yet knows whats gonna happen to the place. Rumours are that its getting bought and changed into a full-on student bar which will work well with all the new halls appearing around there but not sure how this will affect us with students seemingly only listening to Indie these days and "dance music being dead".

The stand in manager, Daz from the Tanners for anyone in the know, says he has barred all the nacka's, doesn't play charva happy hardcore upstairs, cleaned the lines so beer's tasting good, has extended the opening by an hour and promises to have the downstairs bar open for bottles and spirits.

For this party we've decided to get two of our best mates and dj's who've never disappointed in the past.

Don't think I need to say much about either as most people will already know the crack. I've decided that as it might be the last one all four of our residents will also play.

Fingers crossed that if this is a success the will hold well for the future and the new owners. If not there's always Ikon.

We should find out a bit more whats gonna happen by tomorrow, fingers crossed we will be able to put more on in the future. It all depends on the new owners though.

Have to wait and see.

    End of an era.

The night that launched a few good dj's and quite a few more excellent ones as well.

Looking at a good turnout from those who have played in the past.

So would be nice to see a few new faces as well to finsh off the venue in style.

Yeah... don't think we missed that many out while we were in full swing.

Should a be good one, and hopefully not the last.

Cheers to everyone who came down. Really enjoyed last night, tunes were good all night. Sorry to the people who got down early enough to experience the nightmare we had setting up... wouldn't be the same if it all went smoothly.

Cheers especially to Scot and Kol for playing, both as good as always. Dunno what Kol was going on about at the end about it being his last gig or something, hopefully he was just pissed.

Don't really have anymore information on the state of play with the Fiddler, Daz is in for another 2 weeks but still doesn't know the crack after that.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel though. ;-)
