What in your opinion......... Is the best music production program fro dance music. Keep jumping from program to program and i cant settle and concentrate on one. Been hammering ableton 6 recently but people keep telling me that it produces shite sound compared to other stuff on the market. The other major contenders i consider to be Reason, Logic and Cubase. Thoughts? Fully expect si to reply to this
its easy to say cubase or logic i manage to produce very clean sounding music, perfectly well in fruity 6, as its what i know best and very easy to learn, id say that the only thing that irritates me is it can be quite cpu hungry but there are ways around that
i use sx, i love it, but its all about how you like working. What is it you don't like about the ones you've used?
Dont really dislike anything about anything ive used. (mainly ableton). Just people keep telling me others are bette than ableton.
Whoever keeps telling you that doesnt know what they're talking about. Just use the one you feel comfortable with. I could never reallyget on with Cubase so i moved to Reason. I couldnt get on with the sequencer in Reason so i tried Ableton and its the one for me. I use Reason to make beats and Ableton (and a load of vst's) to do everything else. Although my tunes are still shit. I lie in bed every night going 'im really in the mood to make some stuff now but if i get up now then ill never be able to make it to work tomorrow'
Gib im off to the internet cafe tonight so ill get you that link to the Ableton Production PDF send me an email about 5pm
Cheers mate, got a couple of pdf's the other day of some computer music issues scanned in. (illegal i know ) Computer Music - Guide to ableton 5 Live Computer Music 20 - Inside Ableton 6 Special
they were what i was going to send you A really good book for Reason is Power Reason 2.5/3...highly recommended,
Oh well, saves you a trip to the internet cafe. Cheers anyway. Havent really looked thru them yet but ill spend some time on them soon. Gonna stick with ableton for the minute reason is pretty in your face.
at the end of the day, just use what you want don't listen to other people, if your happy and your tunes are good, what does it matter?
yeah ultimately all these programs are capable of the same output, the real difference between them is the workflow to get the end product. Each program is tailored to produce music in slightly different ways so find the one that sits best with your workflow style and stick with it
