What do you think Foundation needs?

following andy's quote.. what do you think foundation needs?

a refurb? a new sound system? new seating layout?

i can't put my finger on what it needs, but i think it does need something.

    no cockey remarks either..

I dont really like the 2 level / open air thing - it makes the place look overly empty unless the club has more than 700/800 people in it. When you get tired its hard to escape the music and just chill out somewhere comfortable and clean.

Sort the bouncers out aswell - They have a real air of violence about them which is just NOT needed.

as a venue I dont think theres anything wrong.

people that get bored of foundation tend to do so because its a box.... they can't change the shape of the building.

Personally I think a change in direction is needed, foundation can't compete with shindig on a saturday or stonelove on a thursday.... The comeptition is too established and has all the glamour of a new venue.

Think foundation should move their indie night to a friday seeing as bulletproof is moving to saturdays at the accademy.

Think saturdays should cater for r and b, drum and bass, hip hop, trance, etc. nights that wont clash with shindig.

I think if foundation continue to attempt to go head to head with digital they'll come out worse...

This is very true, I was reading an article today which said people want somewhere like this to chill out with your friends, somewhere more intimate where its not all going on.

i thought the back room was where the mincers seduced each other to house music, it was like a camp cat walk.

newcastle needs a laid back after hours club (a bit off point cos that not foundation, its too big)

change the dress code slightly to what it was about 5/6 years back.

something like. no rockports, no logo's (eg. hackett across chest), and no stripey tops. saw people actively evicted from the cue on many occasions for wearing such gear and one lad in particular asking if he had to dress like a hippy to get in.

go back to attracting '' top dj's'' to shindig week in week out.. ie, darren emerson, justin robertson, carl cox, roger sanchez, norman j, satoishi tommei, danny rampling, deep dish etc. they used to be on all the time and shindig used to be packed every week, with cue's round the corner and down the road.

p.s john carter too... coxy said on the radio the other day she'd never been but really wanted to go... i'd pay double for a ticket if i thought she'd be there!:D :D

I actually think feedback is the better night, better line-ups, more tuned in management, etc.

but people need to discover it and sadly they're unlikely to stray from something they know they like or a new venue that has the novelty of being a new venue.

if you ban the rockports you lose profits.

If you book huge dj's on the same night that shindig book huge dj's you lose profits.

you shouldnt go into promoting :D
