What about a promise chatroom?

    What about a promise chatroom?

    Seeing how much interest is on the board, why doesn't promise have a chatroom to go with it?

    It's dead easy to set one up (I run two :))

    yep, well the first one was well sketchy, the second one worked perfectly, one day me, dexta and jambon were talkin on there, and this random woman from the US joined in… no idea how she found the site, was pretty funny though, she was about 30, and had kids, but called herself "Luna Sky" or something, so we at first assumed it was a cyberchick! She went on to tell us how much she hated having children, then went off on a tangent about her dog:D

    Where should we put it up then?

    Its easy to set up a webpage with a chat applet on ( This is mine as an example)

    The only other thing we need would be a network to put it on. The best places are usually chat networks with lots of users so you can get people from outside the promise message board involved (mine's located on the GALAXYNET network)

    Anyone else got a suggestion?

    suppose it could work. we cant just make a promise chat board though. the name is copyright and therefore anything that is made to do with it will have to be 'approved'.

    It could always be the 'unofficial promise chatroom'. As long as we make it clear that it's for people with an interest in promise, and that the channel isn't run by promisealways.com, there shouldn't be a legal problem.

    mbmforums had a similar thing on their site when one of their members set up an mbmforums channel on exiled.net. Of course, due to the fact that exiled.net is crap, the channel died pretty quickly :( (bad example to choose)

    ultimateforums did the same thing, except their channels is a wee bit more lively :)

    hmm. well, if anyone is thinking about doing this, i would ask mark about it anyway.

    im sure if the demand is there he will be happy to have one. :)

    because i distinctly remember an unofficial promise messageboard being set up and the user that created it being barred.

    I'm not after setting up another message board, just a chatroom for people to chill in :)

    besides, this msg board is pretty good as far as they go. I don't see shindig with one :p
