    Weight Benches

Anyone bought one recently? I've decided on this one and a set of 50kg dumb/bar-bells for a christmas present from santa clause. Seems like argos is the cheapest place around but i'm still not dead certain on that bench so if anyone knows of a better alternative speak up!

depends what exercises you wanna do on it

do you just wanna work your upper body or lower body also?

you could get something like this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3023479.htm for all your upper body dumbbell exercises and use the barbell for leg work

ps try to avoid the ones with the fly accessory on, you'll be better off doing dumbbell flys and it will save you some money

wtf. I own like one berghaus jacket and i hardly even wear it. As for the exercises i'm gonna do - nothing but bench presses and curls. Fuck running or being fit who needs it!

I do fancy a punch bag like.. speacially one to train the uppercuts.

*Marc.. I joined a gym with a lad from my old work but after leaving I never seen him again.. and i was paying for us both on my card so I ended up having to quit. Plus the fact that public transport there and back was costing more per week than the membership :( To be honest, I'll be better off doing stuff at home as I'm not great at motivating myself to get on a bus to get fit. Once i'm driving ;)

That, plus bar racks, plus weights is going to be a bit too expensive I think. It's going to be a present along with a few other things so i don't want to take the piss :p I was speaking to someone who has a similar bench to the one i stated and they said the fly arms feel quite natural although it's not a big selling point. There's the same version available without them but I haven't seen it for sale. I wouldn't mind a bench with more adjustable positions though :s

the one like you posted is ok, but like someone said, a seperate bench and support is better.

Joining a gym is the best bet, but i suppose if u want a cheap home bench that argos one will do!

is the one i want for myself, but gym is only 5 mins away so ill not invest :D

What's the deal with 'max user weight'? surely for some of the benches, 110kg can't be the limit when combined with weights?

I've read everywhere that you should never ever exceed the weight limitations. 110kg is nothing if you include your own weight. You'd get about 30-40kg of safe weight lifting.
