    Weekends Movies

    Some quick reviews:

    Day Watch:

Very impressed with this, the follow up to night watch and this one actually seemed better. More action scenes and less confusion in this sequal but the ending has left me wondering what they are going to do in the third installment Dusk Watch?

I was very impressed with the cgi and the different types of creatures again, the fight towards the end of the movie seemed well written and planned out :)

    Rating: 8/10

    Hero:

Tarrantino presents Jet Li in this samurai movie that I had previously been told was excellent but after watching it I wasnt impressed. The action scenes were very good, croutching tiger style flying through the air, jumping over trees and jumping on water but the storyline was a little confusing in parts. Its still worth a watch if there isnt anything else on.

    Rating: 6/10

    Silent Hill:

Based on the popular game that I have sort of played years ago I was waiting for an excellent horror movie but instead was let down and seemed to watch a very poorly written movie with a few monsters in. The film started off really well and I was very impressed with the first monsters you see but from there it all went downhill. The storyline seemed to go from bad to worse aswell as the acting and as the movie progressed it meant that the feeling of watching a horror movie dissapeared to me.

If you have played the game you will be able to follow the movie and recognise some of the monsters in there and know why the movie is a little 'barmy' in places, afterall the game wasnt that good anyway. The build up to the big finale wasnt all that gripping and then the end scene was very dissapointing aswell as predictable.

I wouldnt reccomend watching this on the cinema or renting it out instead wait till it comes on sky then if, like me, you were dissapointed at least you'll only have wasted 2 hours of your life an not any cash :D :p

    Rating: 4/10

Next weeks movies are The Promise & Hoodwinked if I get round to watching them :)

Yeah I was waiting for something BIG to happen but was very let down plus I didnt see all the need for the blood in it, I dont mind movies with blood but in some scenes there just seemed to be too much

@Moi - aye thats true I just got the impression from it that the more blood they added the more it was meant to seem like a horror which never worked for me :)

@Chandler_90 - Not sure mate but the action scenes are very very good, wouldnt say they were up there with the matrix ones though.

Some good action scenes, very cheesy with an overly simple plot that even our lass predicted before the end. i thought it was going have MORE twists and turns. but no. Reasonably enjoyable

    6/10

Tomorrow i think i'm seeing the Da Vinci Code...
