    Weekend Breaks

Looking to take the bird away towards November time, has anyone any suggestions on where to go for 3-4 days or any 'cheapish' sites where I can get some prices. Shes suggesting Paris, Venice & all that cheese but im not sure?

Been getting prices for 300+ each for a weekend in Venice and I was hoping of getting something quite a bit cheaper than that.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks

try Oslo, its pretty expensive but a great place for a weekend break and theres plenty to do. Its also bound to have snow which is always pretty good for smoothing it

Barcelona is also a safe option but you should really go during the summer.

I would consider Oslo like, but she will probably want somewhere hot. So it would probably be cheaper to go for a week to Tenerife or somewhere but Im not arsed about the heat, Cheers tho!

was in bergen last weekend which is great but 5 small beers = £50
so unless you are rich oslo and Norway in general are not it.
Had a good time in Nice though last year. good food, sitting in cafes watching world go by. Cannes seemed a bit of a cheesy dump in comparison.
    ljubljiana in Slovenia is good

Head for eastern europe if you want cheap. If your lass wants decent weather it'll probably still be ok round Croatia that time of year.

Rubbish, the booze is more expensive but whats the point on going on holiday to get pissed? You can do that at home.

    Exactly.

I'm pretty sure a pint in Oslo is more than London.

In terms of weekend breaks, Copenhagen is really nice, as is Berlin.

And I'm sure Barcelona is still warm enough in November.

Oh look, Eyeball in "jumps onto the back of FW's posts in his own arsey way" Shocker

I was highlighting the fact that Oslo isnt as expensive as people make out.

Yes, Barcelona is warm enough but there is a lot more going on in the summer than in the winter whereas Oslo has alot of stuff going on in the winter.

plus I found plenty of bars in Oslo where they didnt sell these mysterious £5 lagers. There are places in Newcastle which do £4.5 pints, just as there are places that sell £1.80 pints
