Wax:On - Loco Dice & Brodinski Fri 14th May - Newcastle Wax:On Digital Newcastle Tunisian born and Düsseldorf dwelling cataclysmic DJ and producer Loco Dice will be returning to Newcastle to play his second ever date in the city for Wax:On. With a cyclonic global touring schedule and productions on labels such as Ovum, M-nus, Cadenza, Cocoon and Four Twenty, and founding label Desolat in 2007 with Martin Buttrich, Loco Dice is an artist continually and unyieldingly developing and fine tuning his style and sound year upon year, whilst Desolat and Raum’s Guti will leave you in no doubt of his ability to twist a snaking groove into an echoingly hypnotic and driving set. Brodinski will be gracing Room II, now at the top of his game, with monumental support over the years from Erol Alkan, Tiga and Soulwax, Brodinski is one of the most exciting DJs and producers to explode onto the scene in recent years. His lascivious taste in music encompasses techno, bass heavy house through to more melodic minimal and disco. Judging by facebook - there was a lot of 'non-clubbers' went to this, the same kind of people who would go to see Halliwell or Deadmau5, but then never bother with anything else.
He was great played a lot more techno and a lot less Spanish chanting stuff than I've seen him play on previous occasions.... He totally smashed it and deserves his place up with the other big hitters, plus I think out of the big lads Luciano, Sven, Richardo I honestly think Dice is the most consistent. And he loved it..
nice one lister B) glad it was a good one..some of me mates went to mint club to see him the other month and said he was amazing like
I thought locodice was ace, didn't really feel guti though. Cant say the crowd was that bad either, everyone seemed to be well up for it.
We were having the conversation afterwards, he totally deserves now the headliner status that he has earned over the past couple of years. Whenever you hear a live set from him he's consistently top quality, and Friday was no exception - totally brayed it for me. The crowd was sound too - one of the better crowds i have seen in Digital in a while. Happy days
Yeah, I was impressed with the crowd and the Atmosphere on Friday. Although I eventually got drunk enough to tell anybody younger than me (ie everyone but lister) that I was too old for clubbing. What a tit
